Biography
Joseph M. Caputo is a 1987 graduate of the University of Scranton with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. He received a Juris Doctor degree from Ohio Northern University’s Claude W. Pettit College of Law in 1990.
Since admission to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1990, he has limited his practice to the area of Workers’ Compensation Law and the representation of only Insurance Carriers, Self Insured Employers and Third Party Administrators. He has practiced before numerous Workers’ Compensation Judge’s across the Commonwealth. He has practiced before the Workers’ Compensation Appeal Board, Commonwealth Court and the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. Mr. Caputo has gained substantial expertise in this ever evolving area of law. He has lectured on various aspects of Pennsylvania’s Workers’ Compensation Law for Lorman Education Systems, National Business Institute and The Philadelphia Insurance Society. He has served as an adjunct faculty member at Marywood College teaching Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Law in the 1997-1998 academic year.
Before joining Cipriani and Werner, Attorney Caputo was a shareholder at Marshall, Dennehey, Warner, Coleman & Goggin’s Scranton Office in the Workers’ Compensation Department. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association; Workers’ Compensation Section and the Lackawanna County Bar Association. He resides in Covington Township PA with his wife Kathy and his two children Gianna and Donato.
