Biography
Lindsey Sbrolla grew up in Palm Harbor, Florida, and graduated summa cum laude from the Florida State University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in 1999. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2002.
Following graduation from law school, Ms. Sbrolla served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Daniel L. Leland, District Chief Judge of the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Administrative Law Judges in Pittsburgh. During her tenure, Judge Leland issued William Dempsey v. Sewell Coal Co., 2002-BLA-5357, the first case to significantly interpret the 2000 amended Regulations, and one of the most cited black lung cases in the past twenty-five years.
Ms. Sbrolla’s entire practice has been dedicated to the representation of coal mines and their insurers in federal black lung and state occupational disease matters. She handled matters from inception through the appellate process, including appeals to the Benefits Review Board and to the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.
Ms. Sbrolla is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. She is admitted to the District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
