Walter E. Werner, III, Esquire received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Dickinson College in 1978 and attended the Dickinson School of Law, graduating in 1981. He is a member of all Pennsylvania State Courts, the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, the Pennsylvania Defense Institute, the Allegheny County Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, as well as the Workers’ Compensation Sections of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Allegheny County Bar Association.

Mr. Werner concentrates his practice in workers’ compensation litigation, primarily on behalf of insurance carriers and their insureds, as well as self-insured entities. Major clients include Alcoa, Bimbo Bakeries, Chartis, AP Power, Best Buy, Broadspire/Crawford, Combined Insurance, Elliott Company, Emerson Electric, Enerfab, ESIS, Gallagher Bassett, The Home Depot, Macy’s, Coca Cola Enterprises, Neville Chemical, Sedgwick James, Spherion, W.R. Berkley, and Waste Management. Before entering private practice, Mr. Werner spent several years as Assistant Chief Counsel to the State Workers’ Insurance Fund. In that position, he was responsible for managing the Legal Department for the Western Region of Pennsylvania and litigating the majority of the workers’ compensation cases arising in that Region. In addition to workers’ compensation, Mr. Werner is involved in employer rights’ litigation. He manages the Workers’ Compensation Group of the firm.

Mr. Werner resides in the North Hills of Pittsburgh with his wife Kathy, and they have six adult children.
