The Notice of Temporary Compensation Payable has been revised to include an optional checkbox for medical only cases. Additionally, the reverse page now includes an area for remarks, similar to a Notice of Compensation Payable.
What it Means For You
This change makes it easier for Employers to exercise their rights to institute limited benefits on a temporary basis while continuing to investigate the case. But be careful! Letting a Notice of Temporary Compensation Payable fall off diary could result in accepting liability for a case. Even a medical only Notice of Temporary Compensation Payable could result in a presumption of an entitlement to indemnity benefits at a later date. Contact a C&W workers’ compensation attorney to discuss your options for avoiding penalties while investigating a claim.
