Jason K. Burns is the Managing Partner of the firm's Harrisburg office.  He focuses his practice on representing employers, self-insured employers, workers’ compensation carriers and third-party administrators in workers' compensation litigation.

Mr. Burns has been with Cipriani & Werner for over 22 years.  He has practiced and successfully defended claims on behalf of employers and carriers before Workers’ Compensation Judges, the Workers’ Compensation Appeal Board and Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania.  Mr. Burns is experienced in representing clients in a wide variety of industries, including trucking and transportation, temporary placement and staffing, health care, retail food service, manufacturing, distribution and construction.  Furthermore, he frequently participates in lectures, seminars and presentations on workers’ compensation law for employers, workers’ compensation carriers and third-party administrators.

After graduation from law school, Mr. Burns worked as a Contract Attorney for a large national law firm and was involved in the multi-state tobacco litigation.  After completing his assignment there, he was employed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and assigned to the Department of Labor and Industry Workers’ Compensation Appeal Board, where he wrote decisions for Commissioner William Davis.

Prior to joining Cipriani & Werner, Mr. Burns briefly represented claimants in workers' compensation and social security disability matters at a small WC plaintiffs firm, but quickly realized he was more interested in representing employers and workers’ compensation carriers.

Mr. Burns is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and is a member of the Dauphin County, Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations.

He received his B.S. from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1995 and his J.D. from Widener University School of Law in 1998.  Mr. Burns was a Teaching Fellow at Widener University School of Law instructing first year students on administrative law.

A native of the Scranton area, Mr. Burns currently resides in the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area with his wife, Tricia, and their children, Mallory and Logan.
