Mary Ellen Conroy

Mary Ellen Conroy is a partner in the firm's Philadelphia office and a member of the Board of Directors.  With over 27 years of experience in federal and state courts handling casualty defense litigation, Ms. Conroy concentrates her practice in complex construction litigation, product liability litigation, dram shop litigation and railroad litigation matters.  She has and continues to defend cases filed under the Federal Employer’s Liability Act.

Ms. Conroy is a court-appointed Mediator and Arbitrator for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, as well as a Florida Civil Mediator.  She has also been certified by the Pennsylvania Trial Advocacy Program and the Fundamentals of Fire.

Finally, she has been serving as a judge pro-tempro in the First Judicial District of Philadelphia since 2000, and previously served as an Adjunct Professor at Widener University School of Law.

Ms. Conroy is admitted in all Pennsylvania state courts, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.  She is also licensed to practice in New Jersey and Florida. 

Ms. Conroy has received the highest level AV® Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell for professional excellence and ethics.

She is a 1989 graduate of Drexel University where she received her dual bachelor’s degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management, as well as Marketing Management.  She received her J.D. from Widener University School of Law in 1994. 

She resides with her family in Lafayette Hill, PA.
