Michael E. Fitzgerald is a partner in the firm’s Cyber practice.  He has extensive experience advising clients on cybersecurity, data privacy, and state and federal regulatory compliance matters.

Mr. Fitzgerald has successfully represented large and small companies in breach response efforts, including network intrusions, ransomware attacks, wire transfer fraud, email compromises, financial crimes, insider threats, and critical infrastructure intrusions.  He is also skilled in developing compliance programs, training initiatives, and risk management strategies that strengthen organizational security.

Prior to joining C&W, Mr. Fitzgerald worked for an AmLaw 100 law firm where he managed incident response efforts for multinational manufacturers, educational institutions, insurance agencies, biomedical companies, non-profits, financial institutions, and oil and natural gas conglomerates.  He also navigated international data protection laws during cyber attacks, ensuring timely and compliant notifications. He began his career practicing civil litigation.

Mr. Fitzgerald is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

He received his B.A. from The Catholic University of America in 2009 and his J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law in 2015.
