Congratulations to Pat Carey and Ciara DeNaples of our Scranton office who secured a defense verdict in an unfortunate cerebral palsy baby case. Plaintiff’s counsel and their experts claimed that the child was born with polycythemia that went undiagnosed and caused brain damage. The defense team was successful in defending that the child did not meet the definition for polycythemia, and that the damage to the brain actually occurred in utero during development and could not have been diagnosed resulting in a defense verdict.
