Marisa A. Trasatti

Marisa A. Trasatti is the Managing Partner in the firm’s Hunt Valley, MD office. She focuses her practice primarily on civil litigation, with an emphasis on products liability litigation, including cases involving drugs and medical devices, and premises liability arising from alleged human trafficking. In her role as General Counsel to two medical device companies, she handles a broad spectrum of matters related to corporate, employment, regulatory, contract and product liability issues in the United States and abroad.

In her role as General Counsel to two medical device companies, she handles a broad spectrum of matters related to corporate, employment, regulatory, contract and product liability issues in the United States and abroad.

Ms. Trasatti is admitted to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia, as well as the U.S. District Court, District of Maryland; Superior Court of the District of Columbia; Supreme Court of the United States; and, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Ms. Trasatti is a dynamic force of nature, a tested litigator and key strategist to her clients because she is passionate about her work, continues to hone her craft and achieves the best possible results for her clients. A trusted consultant to her clients for her frank, engaging discussions, Ms. Trasatti builds a genuine connection with them because relationship-building is her first and foremost priority.

As a thought leader, Ms. Trasatti has produced articles and/or presented on the topics of cybersecurity, GDPR, social media, learned intermediary defense, social inflation, crisis management, premises liability and human trafficking. She also is active in her local community as a Past President of Maryland Defense Counsel; her local Defense Bar Association; Past President of CLM’s Maryland Chapter; current CLM Region 3 Co-Chair; appointed to Governor Lawrence J. Hogan, Jr.’s Judicial Disabilities Commission; and immediate past DRI Maryland State Representative for 2021. She also serves in her fourth term on the Character Committee for the Sixth Appellate Circuit where she assesses Maryland Bar applicants. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for FDCC.

Ms. Trasatti is a two-time winner of the FDCC Andrew C. Hecker Award in 2017 and 2021 for her articles on “The Internet of Things and its Impact on Data Retention, e-Discovery, Products Liability, and Cybersecurity” and “The Travel Industry on Trial: The State of the Art of Human Trafficking Awareness and the Impact of Third Party Civil Cases,” respectively. She currently serves as a Senior Director on the FDCC Board of Directors, Co-Chair of the Corporate Counsel Committee, Chair of the Sponsorship Committee and Chair of the Recruitment Committee. In addition, she received the Appleman Award Committee Chair of the FDCC Drug, Device and Biotechnology Committee in 2016. Ms. Trasatti has been sworn in as Treasurer Elect for the Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA).

Ms. Trasatti received her B.A., summa cum laude, from Notre Dame of Maryland University in 1995 where she was a Morrissey Scholar. She received her J.D. from University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law in 1998 and served as the Senior Managing Editor of the Journal of International Law and Trade. Early in her career, Ms. Trasatti served as a judicial intern for The Honorable Lawrence R. Daniels, Circuit Court for Baltimore County and legislative assistant to the late Honorable Senator John Cade.
